If you work from a home office, you may find the days drag and by the end you haven’t had a single conversation with another adult human. Working in Horsham Coworking in the centre of town can help break the monotony of those lonely working days by injecting conversation and creativity.
What is Coworking?
Coworking is a social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.
This means working in a shared or open space alongside other people. Coworkers include remote workers (freelancers, small business owners, independent professionals) who normally work from a home office or coworking aficionados. Either way, here are three advantages of coworking:
1. Meeting, collaborating and making friends
Coworking can give you the impetus to meet new people and make new friends and can easily lead to new business collaborations.
People work with people they trust. By getting to know other people you get a sense of their honesty, background, and skills. Through Coworking, you will meet a group of skilled professionals, who may just become good friends.
2. Creative thinking and new ideas
The opportunity to work across a desk from someone with a different skill set can provide a source of new ideas. Equally, a new working environment can help your brain work differently (perhaps it's just me!) and I have often come up with different approaches to existing problems. Either way, it's all good!
3. Don't go stir crazy!
Working from a home office has several advantages, for example the rent is low, you can create your own workspace, and it gives you the flexibility to stop and start work when you want. In contrast, some people find that working from home is a lonely, solitary environment. Coworking is a great way to make a break from your normal routine!
That sounds great, tell me more!
The Horsham Coworking space grew out of the Horsham Coffee and Coworking weekly meet-ups.
The Coffee and Coworking meet-ups happened for four years. They started in Starbucks, moved to Carmela's upstairs room and the Jumpstart Interactive office, and finally took place in Costa Coffee. They attracted a range of people including web designers and developers, photographers, PR and copy writing experts, small business consultants and bookkeepers.
